Megan Bio Page 1As a Registered Holistic Nurse and member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, Megan’s position in this unique specialty area helps individuals to become empowered in their health care. Megan is a strong patient advocate. Our health care system is often intimidating and difficult to navigate especially when one feels weakened in sickness, pain or sorrow. Through broad based patient education on nutrition, anatomy, and exercise, Megan encourages clients to create collaborative relationships and open dialogue with their traditional health care providers. Megan promotes confidence in the individual to secure available community resources that will insure a cohesive and holistic treatment approach. Her ability to maintain the integrity, clarity and wisdom of acupuncture while cultivating this position in her clients has awarded her the previous recipient of What’s Up? Annapolis magazine’s “Best Acupuncturist” and for several years she has also been the recipient of Chesapeake Family magazine’s “Favorite Acupuncturist.”

Megan balances her strong philosophical beliefs with well-grounded foundations in Eastern and Western Medicine. She holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture, and is national board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Megan's career as a Registered Nurse began over 30 years ago at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the field of Psychiatry and chronic pain management. With a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Art Therapy and a Masters Degree in Art Education, Megan is able to utilize her artistic and creative abilities to forge new bridges of understanding in acupuncture as a healing modality with individuals who have mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, panic disorders, and sleep disturbances. Often individuals with chronic pain experience similar mental health issues as well as personal and professional relationship issues. She is skilled and insightful in utilizing acupuncture and coaching to mitigate these challenges. As an experienced yoga teacher (RYT200) she also incorporates and offers the gifts of the yoga tradition to clients for the sake of their unique understanding of their personal mind, body awareness and healing. ( It is well documented that yoga reduces stress and promotes physical strength and flexibility that serves all individuals and especially those with chronic pain issues.

Megan’s other areas of interest lie in the treatment of Lyme disease, autoimmune issues and the field of addiction.

Megan is trained and certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. NADA promotes the use of Auricular (ear) Acupuncture as an adjunct to treating addictive and psychological disorders.

Her passion for and commitment to the art of acupuncture is deeply rooted in her keen observation of the laws of Nature, the essential tenants of this ancient tradition. Through her academic pursuits and her personal healing journey, Megan has come to understand that the creative life force that governs and flows through all living things is also the loving, transformative power that has the potential to shift body, mind and soul. Megan believes that our physical manifestations are an energetic, symbolic reflection of our thoughts and feelings, our internal environment, and our relationship with our external environments.

Art, Medicine and the Art of Medicine have always been an integral part of Megan's life both personally and professionally. Megan's aesthetic interest and her desire to promote healing and beauty from within are manifested in her Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture work. Megan has been a long time resident of Anne Arundel County. She volunteers for the Anne Arundel County Library Foundation and continues her love of animals after the passing of her husband Dr. John Hall, beloved local veterinarian. Their four adult children live in the local area.
