The focus of her life's work has been to understand the ways in which individuals achieve and maintain health, not only on a physical level, but also in their hearts and minds. In 1993, Linnea founded an independent healthcare consulting company, Health Care Innovations, Inc., which assisted health care organizations in designing programs to meet the needs of chronically ill individuals.
Through this work, she realized that the key to health is not dependent upon the "right" medications or medical interventions, but on maintaining loving relationships, realizing life's purpose, and learning how our bodies are our greatest teachers. She skillfully works with her patients to help them to recognize and promote those aspects of their lives that create movement, joy and health, while limiting energy to those aspects of their lives that are not serving them.
Linnea is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is a practicing chinese herbalist. She is also certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. Currently, Linnea is pursuing Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Tai Sophia Institute to expand and deepen her knowledge and skills in Eastern medical practices. She also maintains a part-time consulting practice so that she can promote the use of holistic health care in traditional Western medical settings and build collaborative relationships between Eastern and Western medical practitioners. Linnea is a contributing author for the book, Chronic Care Management, A Toolbox for Action.
Linnea lives in the Annapolis area with her husband Jamie, her two daughters, Ashley and Lindsay, and her golden retriever, George.
