Carolyn Smith is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Therapist and long-time yoga teacher with a passion for helping people move and feel better in their bodies. A former accountant with an eye for structure and detail, Carolyn learned through her years of teaching yoga that a “one-size fits all” approach isn’t appropriate for every body. With a deep curiosity for anatomy, biomechanics and the body’s innate capacity for healing, she was drawn to study yoga therapy and therapeutic massage with the intention of assisting her students and clients along their journey to healing and wellness.
Carolyn is experienced in Swedish, deep tissue and myofascial release and will often incorporate other techniques for deep relaxation, such as yogic breathing, or calming essential oils into massage sessions. Yoga therapy sessions include practices to support the client and help the client manage their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. These may include asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), visualization; meditation and other relaxation techniques based upon clients needs.
Carolyn is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and Yoga Alliance (YA). In addition to her massage and yoga certifications, she holds a B.B.A in Accounting and a M.B.A in Financial Management.
